We selecteerden vijf verschillende assemblages van het nobelste aller bieren; Geuze! En die flessen legden we dan nog eens voor minstens één jaar, tot zelfs meer dan drie jaar opzij.

Dit pakket bevat maar liefst vier Oude Geuze (Cuvée Armand & Gaston) Vintage-flessen uit 2019. Deze zijn assemblages waarbij we bij proefsessies een bijzonder, zelfs uitzonderlijk bewaarpotentieel ontwaren en beslissen om de flessen dan ook minstens drie jaar bij ons verder te laten rijpen vooraleer we ze laten uitkomen. We hebben dat niet elk jaar kunnen doen – er is immers veel plaats voor nodig – maar dit jaar hebben we er dus twee! Sinds 1998 gebruiken we als etiket ook meestal een werk de Nachtlichten-reeks van Felix de Boeck. In ruil daarvoor gaat dan weer een deel van de prijs naar de ondersteuning van de vereniging die het culturele legaat van De Boeck beschermt.

De Oude Geuze Vintage 2019 selecteerden we onder andere op basis van zijn mooie pareling en de florale en brett-toetsen in de neus. In de Cuvée Armand & Gaston Vintage 2019 overtuigden dan weer de noten van limoen en sesam, de algehele zachtheid en kruidige toetsen ons van zijn langertermijnbewaringspotentieel.

Daarnaast bevat het pakket ook vier flessen van de Oude Geuze Cuvée Armand & Gaston; assemblage 8 van seizoen 19|20. Het is nooit een straf om enkele Cuvées in huis te hebben, voor eender welke gelegenheid. Deze blend rijpte bijna drie jaar in onze warme kamer voor het uitkomen en onderscheidt zich door zijn levendige pareling en oxidatieve toetsen.

Ook voegden we drie flessen Golden Blend aan het pakket toe. Het unieke aan deze assemblage is dat één van de vijf gebruikte lambikken op een sherryvat rijpte. Bovendien is één derde van de gebruikte lambikken gebrouwen met granen uit het Granennetwerk. Deze Golden Blend wordt getypeerd door toetsen van tropisch fruit.

Tot slot bevat het pakket één Platinum Blend; assemblage 42 van seizoen 20|21 en de enige die op een kleine fles werd afgevuld. Ook hiervoor konden we reeds 25% van onze eigen granen gebruiken en de oudste lambik dateert van begin 2017.

Dankzij onze grote, schone bibliotheek van (uitsluitend) flessen kunnen we steeds putten uit een uitgebreide selectie van telkens unieke lambikassemblages. Daarom lanceren we, enkel via onze webshop, graag al eens nieuwe pakketten met zowel geliefde klassiekers als meer beperkte flessen.

We selected five different blends of the noblest of all beers: Geuze! And then we put those bottles away in our cellars for at least one year, and even more than three years.

This package contains no less than four Oude Geuze (Cuvée Armand & Gaston) Vintage bottles from 2019. These are blends in which we perceive a special, even exceptional ageing potential during our tasting sessions, and decide to let the bottles mature for at least three years with us before their release. We have not been able to do that every year – it takes a lot of space – but this year we have two! Since 1998 we also usually use the ‘Nachtlichten’-series by Felix de Boeck as a label. In return, part of the proceeds goes to supporting the non-profit organisation that protects De Boeck's cultural heritage.

We selected the Oude Geuze Vintage 2019 based on its beautiful fine bubbles and the floral and brett notes in the nose. In the Cuvée Armand & Gaston Vintage 2019, the notes of lime and sesame, the overall softness and spicy zing indicated its longer-term preservation potential.

In addition, the package also contains four bottles of the Oude Geuze Cuvée Armand & Gaston; blend 8 of season 19|20. It is always a bless to have some Cuvées in the house, for any occasion. This blend matured in our warm room for almost three years before being released, and it distinguished itself by its lively carbonation and oxidative notes.

We also added three bottles of Golden Blend to the package. The uniqueness of this blend is that one of the five lambikken used was matured in a very old sherry cask. In addition, one third of the lambikken used is brewed with grains from the Cereal Collective. This Golden Blend is also typified by notes of tropical fruit.

Finally, the package includes one Platinum Blend; blend 42 of season 20|21. And it is the only one to come in small bottles. We were already able to use 25% of our own cereals for this, and the oldest lambik dates from the beginning of 2017!

Thanks to our large beautiful bottle(-only) library, we can always select unique lambic blends from a vast selection. That is why, now and then, we release, only through our webshop, new packs with both beloved classics as well as more limited bottles.
